Based on previous release patterns at Patek...usually a reference is "retired" after they release platinum models. There is a very good chance this will be the last year for ordering Ref 5711 and next year there will be a new Nautilus to take it's place. Not sure what happens but I know this particular model will definitely fetch a pretty penny once in "retirement"

I "nearly" bought it but then I got my small doubts: "a sporting watch made of such a soft material". And the price... However, the weight felt good even I was surprised that it was not heavier. The dial: simply fantastic! Enjoy yours. Best, Kari

Ch9698...how do you prevent the scratches on the polished areas of the bracelet? Platinum is certainly is a "softer" metal than SS and will definitely produce scratches even when worn daily. This is a big drawback of owning such a rarity...
