Patek Philippe

Guys, I have just been given an old Patek from a family member. The bracelet says Patek Philippe Geneve 750 and another number 18kt? which is very faint. Also, the case itself only has a very small stamp on the back that I cannot make out. Here is a photo...

Here are some scans from the 1987 catalogue. The price of the watches during 1987 was £9,950 (3942/1) and £9,450 (3842/1). That is for the models without the date function....  

That is the watch, but do you have any information on the date model, and I believe this watch is manual wind? Is that possible? Thanks

You can either open the watch to check its movement number and case number and thus request an extract from the Patek Philippe archives or (which is probably better) take it to a PP salon and send it for a service (which I am guessing has not received one... 

Thank you again! How about a ball park on value? I will try and find time to get it to a retailer, and then will post pics of the case open.

The ref 3842 is a manual wind with the ultra thin movement. However I do not see a model with a date aperture. Your post on another forum suggested other outcomes for your watch. Why don't you take it to a watchmaker who will open the case and look at the...
