5040G
All,
I had the opportunity of putting in an order with an AD back in Nov 07 for a 5040G. Of all the perpetual calendars, this was the one that appealed the most to me. Having been told that it was going to take a while for the watch to make it out of the manufacture, I put it in the back of my mind and moved on. In the mean time, I had the opportunity of picking up a 5396R which I enjoy very much. Now the time has come to make a decision as the watch is now finally at the AD. What are the opinions on the watch, given that there is not much talk about this model, and do you think that going for it now, when I already own an annual calendar would be too much? My current lineup includes also a 5119G along with the 5396R. Any opinions/views on the 5040G?
Thanks,
RP

A couple of years ago I was in a similar predicament. I had just gotten a couple of nice watches and the 5040 R I was waiting for came in. In the end I went for it as I decided that this was too special to pass up. I have never regretted it as every time ...

to your collection, you will be getting one of the most classic complications that Patek has to offer. The layout is typical Patek. I would wholeheartedly suggest you go ahead with getting this often overlooked piece. While other models might be more appe...
