5170 is very nice .... but .....
I would take the 5070 in a heartbeat. Those 5070 won't become chepaer in the furure and the longer you wait the harder it will be to find one. The 5170 is just out so if you don't buy it today you can still get them the next comming years.
My favorite is ofcourse the 5070 but if possible I would love to add a 5170 one day

5970 is great, but a 5004 (in P or RG) is the most exhaustive watch you can have...but it's very difficult to find one ! Good luck...

...I did. Very different watches to wear, with the 5070 obviously bigger by quite a bit...but the connection through the movement, and the iconic status of each reference in the line up when they were current, was enough to get the pulse racing. Worth see...

I used to own all three metals of 5070, less 5070P I do find 5970 less attractive than 5070. 5004 is the acme, go for it before it is discontinued Larry
I have seen the 5170 in the flesh and would have 5070p all day long.....
But that is just me...... 5170 is nice just nowhere near as nice as the 5070p.... M.
