This is really not a fair comparison at all. The only thing they have in common is the price. I don't own a 5070P or a PT RB2, but I do have a 5070R and a rose RB2 and I can tell you the RB2 gets worn 20 times more than the 5070. The Patek is beautiful, but IMHO the RB2 is stunning. It just takes my breath away. I am hoping to get a 5070P for my new born son as his first watch. I think by the time he is old enough to enjoy the it the beauty of the watch will still be in style, and the case is the perfect size being big but not clock on your wrist big.

As to the price of these watches, lets just say they are both extremely expensive and only the owner can decide whether they are worth the dough. There is no rational way to justify the prices of these watches as both are pretty simple chronographs, so they are selling emotion and doing a damn good job at that. For me the RB2 makes my heart race and the 5070 does not.

Go with what you love. If its possible get both. If you intend on eventually getting both get the 5070P first because I think it will be harder to get down the road

I like your AP too but the price is completely insane, I even would call it scandalous. Let me explain it. The listprice for the Carbon Alinghi was more or less 22.000 euro, the red gold was about 45.000 euro and the platinum was around 85.000 euro. So ex... 

I think you may help me to understand more....
