Patek Philippe

Hello friends, Was the Apple Watch modeled after a Patek Philippe? Please see below a composite photograph that I made. On the left we have the Apple watch, and on the right, the Patek Philippe 3582. Do you think this visual comparison holds? Cheers, Matt...  

Interestingly they are rumoured not to be making a left handed version. It\'ll just flip the display for left handed use. Might be a little odd with the crown and button swapped - unlike your flipped image - which is how it should be. Am also intrigued to...

I see some of your followers agree that they look alike. I wonder if this "rumor" will develop into anything. Has Apple commented on what inspired their watch design?

Guess they took inspiration from various sources, but, yes, there's a definite similarity there. The biggest similarity, to my eye, is with with the Ikepod Manatee, which is to be expected I guess given that Marc Newson is working for Apple. ...  

Thanks for sharing that info + photo. I've heard in passing the comparison to ikepod but never actually looked at the two watches side by side. Very similar indeed. Newson working for Apple does strengthen your theory quite a bit! hmm, perhaps we need to ...
