I also saw a 5172 with a salmon dial, but they were too busy to let me take a picture of it. Maybe next month in Paris, they told me.

That is correct, the 5172G salmon dial is one of the new “regular” entries announced this year (it joins the original 5172G with a blue dial). The 2022 Rare Handcraft collection will be open to the public in Geneva from April 6 to 23…

In agreement, unarguably a very strong showing by our brand today ;-) I have not seen wood marquetry in any the Rare Handcraft wristwatches, though it is present in a few of the pocket watches, e.g. Refs. 995/129J-001 and /130G-001 below:

That is correct, and we also have an "Oryx" pocket watch in wood marquetry, Ref. 995/118J-001; I don't have the press pictures for either of these two yet :-) Thanks for commenting.

Dear Prof, Thanks for showing us so many new Patek novelties. Quite a number of salmon dial references, which is unexpected. Wish can see them in metal soon!

My pleasure Henry, indeed a fair amount of salmon is back this year! :-) Love especially the new 5172G-010, it will be interesting to see how it will be received by collectors in comparison with the -001 (blue) version ;-) Enjoy.

I am eager to see the 5172G salmon dial too, Wish it were in platinum though.....

All salmon was apparently in gold this year, to reinforce the G offering of existing references…wouldn’t be surprised however if we see a 5172P iteration in the future (with a different dial, of course)😉👍
