So this combat is a little strange. Normally you would compare the datograph with the 5270, not the 5905. But with discounts the datograph is actually not that far apart. At least I think the comparison is realistic. 5270P is out of reach for me, but ther...

The Dato might be a perpetual but all the indications are cramped and hard to read at a glance , vs. the Patek which is “just” an annual calendar but you can easily read everything, and I’m not even mentioning value retention... But all it matters which o...

IMO Dial win Chrono win Perpetual over annual win Movement win in a first round knockout 5270 is a beauty.

But don't forget the 5905 case. Definitively better than the Lange.

it's to see them make their own cases with some slightly more refined options. I like their masculine cases, but with some refinements they can be more ergonomic, and in some cases when the watch calls for it more elegant as well.

But what about that concave bezel? The value retention? The legibility? And the "Patek" on the dial?

However not sure that this specific Patek holds its value like some other ones. Horologicaly I always would take the Lange. Design wise it is a very personal choice. I agree though that the Lange’s dial is not top concerning legibility. Dirk

PP is more value safe

More discrete, I like the white gold - grey dial combo with silver subdials. And the movement is to die for.

To me fill different needs... one is a complicated elegant piece and the other a sporty elegant piece. Both in case execution, dial execution, movement execution... really depends on what best suits lifestyle and complements the existing inventory the mos...

I just wouldn't wear the Lange PCC a lot. It looks a little too old-fashioned and cluttered in my eyes. In contrast I really like the Patek ACC and prefer the chrono function over the 24h / moonphase subdial on most other Patek ACs. If the 5905 was a litt... 

Patek is housing annual calendar while Lange is using a perpetual calendar this time. Both have chronographs on top of that.

mIght suggest including back shots of each to help those undecided....

On the backside, the Lange crushes the Patek. Most of the movement on the Patek is also hidden behind the large rotor. Thomas

On backside ALS Dato is a clear winner vs the 5905 movement. Clarity of dial I would give to 5905 as Dato is slightly too busy for my taste compared to 5905. Added 1815 Chrono first and then 5905 to my collection at later time which allows the best of bot...

Especially in this dial and metal combination. For the Patek, I very much prefer how the 5960 look instead.

Not to top heavy?

At first glance...the dial may look cluttered. But once you get to understand the intricacy,it’s not hard to read. Btw,I’m partial too coz I own one.

Manual wind, perpetual, value for money, finishing, makes the Lange a winner in my eyes. Especially if you are thinking 5270p down the road the 5905 becomes redundant at some point... Peter

but wears very big, is very top heavy and is very hard to read the calendar sub dials. For an all around wearable watch the PP wins by a wide margin. From a purely mechanical and movement basis the Datagraph is far more spectacular than this PP. This PP i... 

It's a no go for my taste. The right chronograph from Lange is the discontinued original Datograph without power reserve from my very humble opinion. Proportion is the most important criterium for me when choosing a watch.

This model is still in production. Has the latest dial.
