brushed vs polished case
My old Patek 3802 and 3919 had a brushed or satin finish to the case side but my newly acquired 5120 has a high polish to its side. The more highly polished look is perhaps more appropriate for such a formal piece but does anyone know if the 5120 has always come in this style?
I had looked at some preowned 5120's with polished sides and had assumed that these watches had been over- polished at some point resulting in the loss of the brushed finish. Having purchased my current watch new from the AD I now see that it comes that way from Patek.
Is the same true for the 5119?
Appreciate any thoughts or insights.
