Ok, so nobody knows about the brushed sides, but maybe someone can help with another question regarding the caseback. I had thought that the 5120 had always come with a display back, but recently I saw one on a well known auction site with a solid caseback. I know that there was a smaller, manual wind version that was very similar to and immediately pre-dated the 5120 but was unaware that the 5120 had every come with a solid back.
There must be some knowledgeable 5120 owners that can share some wisdom with me. Thanks for any insights.
