Hi Peter. The 5056p exemplifies the best of both of its predecessors, the 5035 and the 5036/1. Furthermore, the diamond it bears hidden between its lugs hallmarks the white metal as platinum -- the first such use of a diamond by Patek Philippe. It is a relatively rare limited edition watch, which will only accrue in value over the decades. It's a terrific investment and, for the black tie affairs, it's just right. Sometimes, smaller is better.

It seems from your post that there are aspects of the 5056P that you don't like, yet you are asking the forum if you should not "miss" it. Don't intend to sound confrontational, but I am curious why you are even considering the piece if that is the case. ...
