After careful consideration, I decided not to proceed with the 5270g-014. I may one day regret it, but the following reasons swayed me. Thank you all that contributed to the post for your help and valuable advice.
1) Production numbers of the 5270 seem to run into the 000's across all dial variations. Production is still in progress and may continue for some time. The 014 and 015 were the least manufactured, probably no more than 250 in each dial colour, but the "chin" has made them unpopular despite becoming sought after by certain "collectors" and speculators. I personally did not mind the "chin" and had I decided on a 5270, I do feel that this model would perform best as a collection piece in the long term.
2) The more PCC collections that emerge, the more diluted and repetitive they become, other than the original, very limited number or special editions e.g. 1518, 2499 etc. Too much choice, comparing one model with another e.g. 5970, 3970 etc and so many dial/metal variations seems to have impacted taste and prices.
3) I would rather divert my finite budget to a rarer and more aesthetically pleasing model, which I can be certain will capture me for decades to come. Something more limited in number and superior in complication/finish. I didn't think twice when I purchased my 5370P or 1815 Rattrapante. They are not much more expensive than the 5270, but are infinitely superior in every way.
4) I enjoy the aesthetics of the 5270, it is no doubt a beautiful timepiece, but there is something missing...it just doesn't captivate me enough, I can see myself getting bored of it very quickly. A part of me also feels that the dial design is alittle lazy, the fact that three versions of the 5270 were released indicates a serious issue. I wonder what else has been compromised...
5) The P version or an end of line special edition might be better suited to my requirements, happy to wait.
