After almost two years of hunting for this historically important Patek, in its complete set and great condition form, and bidding for it at a price I can accept...it so happened that one December morning when I awoke to an email informing me that I had won X watch at Y price ...but nearly had a heart attack when I saw the final price, and what I *thought* to be a 5070 instead of what it actually was...
so after a few frantic stumbles and tearing open the macbook for a proper look at the email, and a few weeks of painful waiting and co-ordination with the auction house, today would be that day this grail arrives - in what I count as the first of this year 2014.
beautiful presentation, a dominant size on the wrist, light at 109 grams, with the slightly outer fluted lugs adding that very elegant touch, I am tremendously pleased at the wear and look and presence of this - dare I say it - powerful piece. I count myself fortunate as being the second owner of this piece.
so with some assistance for a 21-16 mm strap wise (thank you patekova) from a dealer here in Hong Kong, and some help from the Patek Center for a quick check and time/date setting, here is my 5970g...
and for now the king among some friends...
