So I must try and clarify here....
Thin is good in this case and it adds to the comfort of the watch as I commented on at the end. I was just very surprised by it and it caught me a little off guard.
In actual fact, the thinness of the 5712 vs. some of my other pieces was a compliment to Patek and their amazing ability to build something this complex in such a compact case - with a full automatic winding system to boot.
My observation an impressions were just that. I count myself extremely fortunate to be able to partake in this wonderful hobby and to have access to a wide variety of pieces from many different brands. As with anything that one has exposure to, one likes to compare between those items and that was really the aim.
The net result is that I really do like the piece. After wearing it all day today, it is amazingly comfortable, stunning to look at and I appreciate it for what it is...
Richard Mille, Panerai, Rolex, IWC, Speake-Marin, UN, JLC, GO, ++ etc.... are all watch brands that I collect pieces from and love. They all have their individual qualities that I like and dislike and the Patek was no different.
My comments were just really comments on my thoughts and how I think this piece could be improved in my eyes. I'm sure many others would differ - but thats what makes this all so fun - the variety of views and opinions.
Cheers
