.... i think that you are posing the problem in the right way. Wearing the watches is the core idea about watches, and if i were you i wouldn't try to be a collector with rare pieces but pieces that i do not wear. Feels like its an ego thing, and i wouldn't go down that road.
Go for what you will enjoy, that's the best thing to do IMO, but keep in mind that a black dial 38mm will feel smaller than a 37mm with dial that catches the light perfectly such as the 5550P.
