I don't think we can always understand why people do certain things or treasure certain details but speaking of myself, I cannot understand paying a massive premium for a unique dial
This does not mean I wouldn't pay more for a better pristine original dial or in the case of vintage PP an enamlled lettered dial .
But I have never been one to pay for having Tiffany on the dial- if it means the price id double
Originality and condition have their costs but for a unique one of dial does not carry the weight that some collectors ascribe to it and thus pay exorbitant sums for such a watch
But hey it's not my money. spend away if it makes you happy
However at those stratospheric levels of collecting ,price does not come into the equation I suspect.
