Issue with jumping minute counter on Patek 5170R
Dear fellow WIS,
With reference to the topic matter, please could you advise me on the following.
Once every 20 chrono activations or so, the jumping minute hand on my 5170 will not move after the first minute has elapsed (it will move after the second minute has elapsed without further hiccups). Otherwise, the watch works perfectly.

Is this a known issue with this particular movement or did I buy a lemon ?

Hopefully your watch is still under warranty.
I don’t know if it’s a known issue, but I do know PP will fix it rather easily.

And other would know much more that it has to do with the sweep hand reset. But this is a case where I would only use Patek itself to diagnose and repair
It needs to go the service centre...
I had 3 x 5170Gs over the years and none of those have had this issue.
It has a display case back, what is the minutes counter mechanism doing?
The prawl that advances the minutes counter is lifted away from the minutes wheel when you press the reset button. If it got stuck in the lifted position it would explain this.
