Thank you for you nice and quite thourough reply, for me the Datograph's size is perfect on my wrist as for the weight I have to say that I do like a "substance" on my wrist, I have other platinum watches and believe me the GP Rattrapante Foudroyante or the JLC Septantieme are quite heavy and a delight to wear. You said it very well that the bezel on the 5396 is its weak point and that why I never felt really comfortable wearing it, after all no one wants to have his/her watch scratched but at the same time not wearing it is almost a sin. As for the resale value it is really not on top of my decision making, first I want to wear a watch I like and feel good with, if one day comes when I want or need to resale, if the value has gone north, great if not well....no one lives for ever!

I'm not a fan of the sector dial. If it was the plain dial, it would be a harder decision to make.

I do uderstand the appeal for a Date, a Day Date, a Triple Date, a Perpetual Calmendar, but the " in between " AC, I don't like this idea. With the Dato you just enter the fabulous family off fine Chronographs. There are not that many which can compete it...

My initial response was too emotional, short and unfair. Truly you can't go wrong either way. Both are marvelous timepieces .... it's just that I'm a bigger Patek fan.
Francois, to answer your questions specifically,
I would swap the AC with the Dato anytime. I never owned any AC (and therefore I can't feel for one) but I have 3 Patek PC and the Dato so know them very well. In my opinion, knowing the Dato, I would only go for this. have fun wearing it. Mech.
