GG's was "just a GMT" and a pp calendar, apparently.
What Patek did is quite reasonable: some Muslims orientate themselfs during fastening period Ramadan to Mecca time.
Although not really "compulsory", as the local time (sunset and dawn) is the accepted time for "non-Mecca-Muslims".
Now, that a Muslim will sell this again (if I understand your usage of flip correctly) is very unlikely, if he once has got his hands on this one.
Also: it looks quite dapper, I can imagine, with the green dial.
But as I mentioned before: I, personally, see the close relationship of two big religious symbols in one watch as a very accomplished topic.
Your "clin d'oeil" is certainly also in this watch: I note this in the marketing aspect of this watch...
