Glad its in Platinum and not in White Gold like the Gerald Genta (conservative Muslims don't wear gold) however the liberals aren't going to buy it and the conservatives will never buy a watch with a Cross anywhere on it, so the middle of the road guys and gals are targeted with 150 pieces (I'm sure with 1.3 billion of us they'll sell them all) which is cool, have to see a real life picture to see how the green looks, its too soon to jump to any conclusions based on these stylized marketing pictures (been there and done that 
).
I would have atleast made Mecca in current day Arabic script as a Nod to Patek's historic pieces for their Turkish, Egyptian, Middle Eastern and Indian Muslim clients.

Linking a luxury watch to a religious place seems in fairly poor taste as the concepts of religion and ostentatious wealth are not exactly complimentary. Having said that, as a heathen non-believer I'd pick the green version over the blue in a heartbeat.
Personally, I find it weird, and I felt the same when GG released their Mecca Octo.

To me the reference to Mecca is clearly a religious aspect. No other city alteration (just the Dubai) has a also a differently coloured dial. And in general: green is the colour of Islam and the prophet. Regards Moritz

Salman, you are right green is one of the colours of islam. Green is the traditional colour of islam because the tribe of the prophet mohammed had a green flag and to them it represented paradise. Hence the watch is green. I dont think patek is emulating ...

Green is a reasonable colour on Mecca & dial surface,
but, shading the Patek logo too is way beyond comprehension: (1). Doesnt contrast well with the dial (2). Overpleasing the community by changing its trademark colour!
