I came across this watch 2 weeks ago. Its elegance and beauty are still very much in my head. Sure I don't need another watch in a platinum case (trying to rationalize), and the lack of a display case back does obstruct views to the micro-rotor (nitpickin...

That is one helluva bridge

was standard on the platinum versions for a while when display backs were used for gold models. Cannot go wrong with this watch.

The solid back wouldn't bother me, but to my eye this reference looks best in colored metals. There just isn't sufficient contrast with white metal. Only my opinion, and the beauty of the 3940 shines thru in any metal!

I think 3940p makes a lot of sense from the collecting perspective. The overwhelmingly positive feedback is yet another proof that it's well-loved by our collecting community. On a personal level though, it gets a little trickier. I'm blessed to have a fi...

Strangely, the same day you posted the shot of the 3940P on your wrist, I too went to have a look at one, and I said "Yes!". This piece is quintessentially Patek and soooooo classic, and the size is perfect for my wrist. It was the watch of choice for Phi...
