Patek is not a good example to determine anything
They raise prices for no reason and every reason...
I wouldn't worry about Patek not being around for the next generation... Patek will squeeze them too! 
It almost hurts my brain to read about anyone 'worrying' that Patek won't be around.... this is a monumental company, masterfully marketed, and immensely profitable... correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe the so-called middle brands won't raise prices... as much... but we are almost definitely going to se prices hike... this is based on conversations with two very 'inside' and very successful gray market guys... FWIW.

It is rather un-gentlemanly to "hope" that the PP raises USD prices. I would prefer to hope that PP doesn't raise USD prices again, and that you will come to the US to pick up a beautiful new watch at a bargain price (in terms of your own currency holding...

If you have a Patek on order, or are strongly considering one, why not hedge vs. the Swiss Franc? A very simple way to do this is purchase the ETF FXF. There are, of course, many more complex ways (e.g. FOREX).
