Patek Philippe ref. 5111: an unloved model ?
With its strong design reminiscent of the Cartier Tank Chinoise, Patek Philippe's ref. 5111, powered by cal. 215 PS, doesn't seem to be on many collectors’ radar.
The case and dial design are unusual but include many subtle details.
The watch is fairly large, though, at 33 x 48 mm, and does probably not fit any wrist. Reason why I personally prefer the ref. 2531, to which I dedicated a thread.
How do you feel about this reference?

As I haven't seen it in real life, the only thing I can say is that I find it intriguing, but I can't tell if I really like it or not. Best, Emmanuel
shaped PP have never been very popular
they have had the tendency to be on the baroque style... The one you present reminds me of bamboo shape. Lovely but for someone who has a bit of a wider collection for everyday

I like the layout of the dial,
but I'm not fond of the linear textured pattern of the center circle. And, even if I like the refined complexity of the case, I think it's too big. But I've unfortunately never seen this model in real life. Best, Emmanuel
To be perfectly honest I was never a big fan of this reference when it was available in stores.
For whatever reason it is now seriously growing on me

I am a big fan of rectangular watches but for some reason I have never felt aligned with this model
