Patek Philippe's Millennium Calatrava
Among Patek Phillipe's limited editions for the Year 2000 was this rarely seen and talked about Calatrava ref. 5032J-012 (on this site, it was only mentioned 10 years ago by small-luxury-world).
Limited to 100 pieces all in yellow gold, it was sold exclusively through the Patek Philippe Salon in Geneva (represented on the solid case back) and constituted the final series of the ref. 5032, which was introduced in 1995.
The main distinctive features of this Millennium version are the applied gold Breguet numeral ‘2’, the triangular indexes and the crown with ruby-set cabochon.
The 36 x 7 mm case was made by Favre-Perret and the watch is powered by automatic calibre 240.

Calibre 240 is 27,50 mm, so not that bad for

I think that the idea of this design is that indexes mark the hours
and meet the hour hand, whereas the numerals on the outer periphery mark the minutes and meet the minutes hand... But I understand why you feel this placement is a bit odd. Best, Emmanuel
