Personally I would not be happy.............
To wait that long for the lubricate to work itself into the gearing, maybe a 2-3 weeks.
But after that if the problem still persisted, I would ask for it to be sent back.

I would not swallow this "settling" explanation. Each watch will have gone through a "settling" period well before being sold. It is a part of the Geneva seal. I am not sure how many hours it will have already been tested, but plenty enough for any issue ...
