When I first purchased my 5960P, my watch did the exact same thing when April 30th changed to May 1st. I returned to my AD and he reset it exactly as the manual indicated. No further problem since then. My 5036 did this, too. Pateks must be set using the exact procedure indicated in the owners manua
I think the 5085/1a represents a great value and has many of the feature PP owners desire along with an attractive price-point on the secondary market.
... but it's hard to imagine the owner of a 6-figure wrist watch 1) flying in a commercial airport and 2) wearing jeans & a t-shirt. Then again, if it's for real, different strokes for different folks!
My brand new 5960 did the same thing back in April. I brought it back to my AD who "re-synched" it. Now, all dates changed perfectly from Tue 30 Jun to Wed 1 Jul. If you're unable to have your AD help you "re-synch" the gears, then follow you owner's manual to the "T" on how to properly set it. When

Much will depend upon your pocket book + how you plan to wear the watch. However, assuming you want to stay in the 5-figure area, both a 5712/1A or 5167/1A are excellent models that look great and can be worn in nearly any setting, IMO.
I traded-in a Breitling + JL Reverso, both of which I rarely ever wore, for a 3710. It was by far one of the smartest transactions I have done + I'm enjoying the 3710 10x more than I ever enjoyed the Breitling or JL. Out with the old, in with the new!
