Sincere congrats on adding a 4947 to your collection! I love the last picture, it's no doubt an original dial that greatly enhances the versatility of this calendar! ;-)
You raised a couple of good points --- the 38mm of this beauty, which make it entirely suitable for both genders (despite the initial 4 in the reference number), and also the typical rarity of SS complicated (non-sports) models within Patek's catalog....another great point in favor of this modern calendar!

Good point that this is a unisex model “suitable for all wrists”, as Patek described it. I only learned recently that initial 4 and 7 are usually lady’s models for Patek. In this case, as it is part of the 4947 family, it makes sense to use the same refer...
Yup, apparently the Shantung pattern is based on the
weaving pattern from China 🇨🇳 A very functional piece with steel ! 👍 Enjoy it often between you and your other half 🤣. Sharing is caring !

I noticed that the 4947G-010 released earlier has this weaving pattern already, inspired by silk dress I gather. Please see a screenshot I got below. The blue pattern in 4947/1A looks to me more like jeans than silk . Cheers. ...

Gorgeous watch. How does it feel on your wrist? Do you mind me asking how long was your wait? AD’s I ‘ve been to gives a 3-5 yrs wait ( w/c is crazy)
The piece is quite comfortable to wear, not too heavy and not too light.
I have not worn it for long period of time though. It will be for special occasions. I was very lucky to get this piece. There were many pieces I asked and the ADs just could not offer to me. I was lucky eventually there was one piece coming through. Good...
