I was hoping for a few more marquetry pieces but seems only one wrist watch is their capacity.....oh well at least

Wood marquetry production is always very limited since there’s only one artist (J.B.) in charge of these creations at Patek...Definitely not a humiliation in the event you get rejected (and chances are you will not)!😉🥂

What do you think the reason is for focusing on a limited market like pocket watches versus calatrava wrist watch marquetry.

I assume a reason is a pocket watch leaves more room to creativity, so it will always be in production for these crafts (or so I hope)...obviously more of a niche market though, and it’s possible a few more wristwatches are produced than pocket watches😉

Very much so, and I also like that the 5177 (one of the youngest rare handcraft references, with a hobnail bezel) is continuing to be offered with some really interesting dials👍Cheers.
