Temptation triumphs once again!
This year has seen a major setback to my finances no thanks to all the temptations on offer and my remarkably weak self discipline. As a result, I have ended up doing reckless things like leaving a deposit on this absolutely irresistable 1503. I could not find or afford the sought after stainless steel piece so I have opted for this stainless steel and yellow gold piece, the combination of which I must confess, looks a lot better than it sounds! 
More importantly is the condition of the watch which has been 'valeted' by Patek but the dial remains original. Not bad for a 74 year old watch

I must admit I know little about vintage watches except that I love their size and the way they look, both the dial and the lugs. The fact that the two tone case is consistent with the time is an added bonus.

The shots are those from the dealer and definitely not mine. I have not even seen or tried on the watch which is arguably a 'reckless and irresponsible' purchase but it looks too good not to own if possible.

I very seldom buy a watch without even seeing it or trying it on but this was being sold in Germany and I was in London on holiday and am now back in Malaysia. So I had to make an executive decision ie go with my instinct!!

33mm but wears a little bigger

Probably depends on how tightly I pull the tape measure. Regardless, I'm glad I can pull off smaller watches. I find them more jewel-like as well as significantly less expensive than watches with more "modern" proportions.

Smaller watches currently represent excellent value for money and I would totally recommend them to anyone with a smaller wrist.
