Thank you, what a fantastic write-up. I was recently searching for information on production of MOP dials.
Question for you: you mentioned that between the MOP and brass plate there is another layer that provides the colour. I thought MOP naturally had a variety of colours. Are you saying that PP use white/translucent MOP and add colour using this additional plate? Or does this additional plate just enhance the natural colour be it white or other?

A review of the current Patek website, that is telling now the material of the dial, showed that in only three models of the collection gold is used for the dial. 5% as you mentioned is also a very small number. Albeit: they should all be made of gold ......
