Because I love it !!! The contrast between the mate steel and the shiny gold, how it makes the case so unique and full of details, this incredible dial we know on many Nautilus but with gold indexes it is even more mesmerising, the weight, the "1980's adu...  

Now, the trend it to use a little more yellow gold and use 2-tone models (like the 5550P in 2011 and the 5496P this year). Maybe something on the basis of the 5711 in the future? We'll see.

As people look for big cases now, I look for any size, as soon as i like it. My 5905p is a 42mm and looks thick but small. Smaller than many 40mm ie. On pictures I loved it but thought it wasn\'t for me, until I tried it on my wrist... 5905p is really a g...  

The winner with a short margin was 5960P. Why: - 12 hours counter vs. 60 minutes - power reserve indicator - a friction slimmer - the case back is not the "press-on" -type - for my wrist better size - most probably rarer Both are great watches. Best, Kari... 

But would personally not compare these two because the 5960 I love is the white dial on leather strap, that makes it very unique, and the 5905p in black dial. Therefore they are 2 very different watches in these combos. The 5960/1a is a more sportier watc...

less than 10 vintage pieces. There are two newly acquired very dear watches: Nautilus 3700-001 & 3700-011. Both absolutely mint, with Certificates, all papers and cork boxes. Simply great watches! Best, Kari

quite a lot watches like Aquanaut 5167 and Nautilus 5711 - especially when warm sea or swimming pool is around. But these watches are stars of many watch forums every day. Watches like 5975P, 5550P, 5100P, etc. are much rarer and thus, probably more inter...

I think I saw it with several other models in the shop I visited earlier this week Maybe it is just a coincidence. It look fantastic,very good condition and doesn't look at of age at all but on the contrary very unique en original compared to today's offe... 

And, as well as the 5905p, I entered the store thinking I will buy another piece (in this particular case I wanted a 3800 but I was interested by the other ones they had in stock) and I fell in love with this one!

I saw the 3800 too. And I think that I would have made the same choice as you did, just because it is more a little more original and a little more exciting on the moment. I had a look at the 3970P in the same window and the 5975G I like a lot. A lot of t...
