I did follow the instructions exactly, but I am now going to run the experiment once more and if it fails then I guess I have no choice but to send it in for service. Incidentally, yesterday I randomly tested the transition from March 31 to April 1 and that worked well. After that I tried the Jan to Feb transition again, but it failed.
