The 5035 has a special place in Pateks history. I personally want a moonphase in my AC.
If you only want a few Pateks, id go with a date. So this is why imo you should go with the 5296. There are spectacular sector dial versions in both r and g - i would take one of them - they have that historic sporty chic look the 5196P has for almost have the price of the P.
You choose some great piece. Enjoy the purchase and be sure to buy from a good dealer - quite hard when you choose discontinued watches.

If you want a Patek Calatrava, then I think you should go for the 5196p for starters. And if you intend to only have 1 Patek watch. 😎
But if you want to add 2 3 pcs. then a self winding is good and for complicated model go for a world time as it is most useful complication. My opinion. Good luck. Buy what sings to your heart. 👍 Geross

No offense but pointing out that there is more important stuff than the first world problems discussed in many threads on watch forums is stating the obvious ...
... and makes it no less weird to vent ones anger about a forum in one thread and minutes later opening another thread on that very forum to ask for advice.
Its not about the fact that owning a PP is a first world thing
But saying that the AC is the stuff for the people on the street - that is a bit decadent since most ACs from PP are 45k or so.
Sure, I am not defending the "issue" raised in the other thread...
