Thinking of buying this for the wife. Thoughts/Comments?
Fine Watches: To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Patek Philippe Salon at Tiffany & Co.s famed Fifth Avenue flagship in NYC next month, the two companies are producing a new limited edition diamond and gold ladies wristwatch. Only 100 examples are being made, priced at $21,800 apiece, equally divided between two dial options: a white lacquered dial with black external minute railroad and a black lacquered dial with white external minute railroad.
The Gondolo design is inspired by Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. timepieces from the 1930s and features a curved, tonneau-shaped case in 18 karat white gold accented with 164 round brilliant-cut diamonds, a lacquer dial with classic guilloche pattern, Arabic numerals and black, hand-stitched alligator strap. The timepiece is double-signed Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. and will be sold exclusively through Tiffanys Patek Philippe Salon, the renowned Swiss watchmakers first in the U.S. and fifth worldwide.

Lovely Watch
By: Meehna : November 17th, 2009-11:09
I think it's a beautiful piece. Being a woman and a watch geek, however, I wouldn't want a quartz movement and I think this one has one, doesn't it? When spending such a large amount of money on a timepiece, I prefer to have the mechanical movement. Your ...
quartz and ladies

Yes, it is quartz and I don't like that. My wife prefers an automatic, but its incredibly hard to find an automatic for women. I don't think Patek makes any except for the annual calendar for ladies and that is too big for her wrist. If she can't get an a...
