Patek Philippe

My 5960 blue dial has stopped. This is one of the first blue units made, with a geneva seal on the movement. It halted by night, with power left on the reserve, and then worked for a while and halted again. I have given it back to Patek, who are providing... 

I wonder if something within the movement, such as a screw has become loose and stopped the movement? I know that it is a wrench, having waited myself for a Patek to come back, so I can empathise with you.

The good news is that if your watch is serviced by Patek, it comes back in new-like condition. After that it should run well for 5 years before the next service is needed. Be patient - it's always worth waiting something good. Best, Kari

eeek? Now that's an enjoyable surprise. How come? It looks like the other 5960 variants are still going strong!

Bruno: The 5960P blue dial still shows up on the Patek website as an option. May I kindly ask where you heard this information? Thank you for your response.

Or call your AD and ask for one. If he doesn't have one in stock you won't get it. 'Something' will change, don't know if it are minor changes on the dial or complete discontinuation. But the blue dial as we know it today is a thing of the past

My 3940 went for regular service to Patek in September 12, 2012 not back yet. That is 5+ months and counting. In addition, I will be paying a hefty sum for the privilege of waiting so long. Frankly I am more upset than excited that some day I will see my ... 

Normally they do not service the "grand complications" everywhere. It seems that the US delivery times are crazy. My 3940 was serviced in the end of last year in UK and it took 12 weeks. And that was a complete service. Best, Kari

Seeing that I am based in the UK. Though, hopefully mine will not require servicing anytime soon! :) Kari, why if I may ask did you send it to the UK service centre, rather than Geneva?

One reason is that I have serviced a lot of watches in Geneva and I'm very satisfied with everything there. However, I have to fly twice per watch - to bring the watch to Geneva and take it back. London I'm visiting some 6 times per year on business. I wa... 

Its good to read that both service centres are consistent..........as they should be!
