I real love PP rare handcraft watches. They are not just hard to get, but they are so beautiful to own, enjoy and have lots of fun with the watches. I learn how to take good pictures of the pretty watches. Just love them. Congratulation on your nice colle...

As I understand, some big collectors has two set of 5131 all models. Look at this picture from Google search. The owner has a set of 4 5077 and double sealed. Some collectors keep contribute a lot every year in order to get more rare watches they like. Co...  

I am just saying that in the UK due to the high demand of the 5131, no collector will be allocated more than one piece even if he spends a lot on Pateks. You are fortunate that your AD allocated two watches to you. In the UK, being a top customer does not...

I used to the platinum bracelet weight. I love it because I was looking a PP watch that I can wear it all year. The strap is not suit for hot weather because of sweating. I understand many collectors prefer strap and they have the same idea of yours. You ... 

I live in Malaysia and it is extremely hot here but I guess I am just so used to wearing watches with leather straps. I bought a Daytona yesterday and am even contemplating on putting a rubber strap on it as I am just not used to wearing a bracelet. The 5... 

I think PP wants to make more money on P. I am a guy like to pay for it because I real love P with both bracelet and leather strap.

I have only one P watch and it has been ordered and paid for and should arrive in November. And thank god it is light!!! The Cartier tank cintree limited to 100 pieces ...  

I agree with you on Rhone comment. I had to make a choice...decline the R for the P or take the R and no P!!

Rhone Products would not allocate a 5131 to the same person twice. I am pretty close to the Directors there and they have confirmed that. However, of course a collector may get as many 5131s as he wishes from other sources which is always a possibility.

Get from UK?

Some people use my name to bother my AD. Some people expect walk in to AD and get a nice piece right away. I have to do lots of contribution before I can get one nice piece.

We're from a UK source considering Sham1 comment....I think there is a 5131G and 5575G in your cupboard as well....cheers

But it is almost impossible to get both R and P from same AD unless you are a big collector. As what I heard, Some collectors got many 5131 from some AD in Asia.

The Salons are owned directly by Patek and might have a different policy from say Rhone Products who manage all the UK ADs. Also, I have little doubt that ADs in Asia have been allocating 5131s to the same customers I can think of at least one purist with...

Thanks for your views! I guess the question is should a customer who has been allocated either the J, G or R version of the 5131 also be allocated a P when there are so many genuine collectors out there who had missed out on all three metals.

It is very very difficult to get 5131 in UK if you are foreign buyer unless you show you are very very loyal to your AD and MD.

and I assume you meant 'loyalty'. In the UK, it is encouraged that you buy from the same AD and not multiple ADs to build a relationship and track record with them. I know as I have been doing this for the last decade.

I believe nothing is fair in the world. Different policy works in different country. There are only fewer 5131, not enough for every collector. I believe I have to work hard to get what I want. There is always someone in front of me if I want to get a thi... 

but if it is possible to make thing fairer which I believe there is as practised in the UK market, then, this should be adopted as a unified policy by Patek worldwide. There is always be some degree of unfairness but the whole objective is to minimise it.... 

I love both and P. Both are very beautiful. It can't be wrong either choose R or P.

As a man, I love 5077 black dial more than red dial. My daughter and wife love both red and black dial. I guess my daughter love red more than black dial.

and of course beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I like watches which are discreetly elegant and classy. Many of the 5077 range do not quite do it for me but your black dial watch is a sure winner.
