Patek Philippe

Yes, but there is a difference.....

Patek Philippe made fewer than 600 of the ref.3448. If I bought a 3448 and it got dinged-up on my wrist I would feel that I had violated an historic "trust" of some kind. I think the 5320 is going to be a very popular watch. Patek will probably make two or three thousand of them (with modifications) over the next decade or so.When I buy a new 5320 from my A.D that will be my watch. Fair and Square. I will wear it all the time and enjoy doing so. It won't be an "Historic Relic" or a "Museum Piece". A scratch, a scuff or a ding will only reflect my journey with that particular ( one of thousands) watch. The 3448 is a very beautiful, very important, historically significant watch. I would not have the discipline to leave it in a safe. It would be wearing it with impunity!
