do you process the images on a special software, or just the iPhoto app on the phone? I’ve got a x15 macro lens (credit to @cluelesscollector) and can then double that by zooming on the iPhone screen itself. But I can never get to the magnification that you and others get.

Glad to hear that my suggestions helped...and I have to say you did very well for a 1st try.
Natural light plays is a big part into these and being steady as well, echoing the masters. It helps to hold the iphone+Macro lens near, focus it then zoom in. Enjoy!
