...brings back good memories. Third St Promenade looks to have really suffered from a dearth of retail shoppers...Shake Shack looks new. I had many fond memories of having a Johnny Rockets and shake, and then bolting to the cinema next door. Hennessy and Ingalls, and one Borders and the anchor B&N were oases of reading for a lazy afternoon, before a short walk along Ocean Ave just before twilight. Played lots of 'for-money' chess too with the old-timers near the Pier, and lost a few dollars. Alas--life moves on.

hardly recognizable in terms of retail and demographics. It's peak summer, so there is a tangible number of tourists at the moment, but aside of them the volume of people spending any length of time has fallen drastically due to homelessness and businesse...
