Hi Anthony, I loved the watch 'at first sight' in the photos
.........but, like you, had a lukewarm reaction when I finally saw it live at an AD two weekends ago, where they had both the Silver and Black dialed models.
I really look forward to seeing this watch again for closer examination, and hopefully, appreciation!!!! 
Btw, my fist mechanical watch was this 25 x 25mm hand-wound Polo from 1981 or '82 when I bought it in Rome:

No issues whatsoever. If it presses against your skin or leaves red markings around the wrist, my guess would be: a) you're strapping on the watch a tad too tight or too loose b) you don't have the buckle centered in the middle of your wrist Cheers, Antho...

Points taken. So far the buckle is in the center of the wrist. Might be a tiny bit loose. But still it gives deep red marking on where the buckle is..sigh.. Does it really have to be exact fit? As I do have some pieces which sit comfortably with such type...

Yes, have done that. Anyway, you are right on the dot. It is the rather sharp edges of the buckle that pinched our skin. We also could not figure out what else to do so after taking turn wearing it for 2 weeks, it is now with Piaget and we would just wait...

The edges of the deployant are slightly more sharp than other deployants I have so hopefully they can round out the edges for you. I don't know if rounding out the edges will solve your redness problem though since the deployant release button is the part...
