My unique Roger Dubuis was auctioned in HK Sotheby last Saturday. ...  

But she is gone anyway. Hope the new owner loves her as much as I have done during the last 24 years!

I planned to keep it as a family treasure and pass to my son after I die. But nowadays, most young people do not like watches, some even don't wear watches. That's is why I decide to let her go in case when the day come, my son treats it like a trash. And... 

I expect more but I can accept! As a matter of fact, RD is not a Class A brand as PP and Rolex. Although this watch only produced one piece and compare to a only one piece of the Rolex Daytona which is sold for 25 million HKD in the same auction, this uni...

And better than a modern RD tourbillon in the same auction! The auction revealed that modern RD watches are not worth their prices! The prices of modern RD watches are way too high!

RD makes his own balance springs, PP and many others do not do, and Rolex just recently. An inhouse balance spring is in the centre (pun intended) of a movement and to me a big reason to consider getting a RD.

They do silicon springs wich do not rank so high in my books as silicon is not a traditional material.

Can you tell us about its story? Did you have it commissioned and does the depicted scene have a special meaning to you? Mother of pearl subdial: that is a nice touch too

when Roger Dubuis left PP to establish his own brand. I think this watch was made by Riget Dubuis himself and the certificate has his hand signature. The dial is engraved a Portuguese explorer in 1492 and the movement is a 1940 packet watch which modified...

whether I should congratulate you as it's a truly unique pieces. Having said that, I do understand your rationale and applaud your desire to pass it onto someone who would hopefully treasure this piece as much as you did.
