And better than a modern RD tourbillon in the same auction! The auction revealed that modern RD watches are not worth their prices! The prices of modern RD watches are way too high!
RD is a good exmaple that horology is not often apprectiated the way it actually would deserve to be
RD makes his own balance springs, PP and many others do not do, and Rolex just recently. An inhouse balance spring is in the centre (pun intended) of a movement and to me a big reason to consider getting a RD.
Patek does not do metal alloy balance springs
They do silicon springs wich do not rank so high in my books as silicon is not a traditional material.

As a big fan of early RD, I'm not entirely sure
whether I should congratulate you as it's a truly unique pieces. Having said that, I do understand your rationale and applaud your desire to pass it onto someone who would hopefully treasure this piece as much as you did.
