New Milgauss GV owner.. some thoughts/questions
Gents,
Firstly, sorry no pics! just plain lazy.....pics just seem so gratuitous besides, how can I improve on the dozens of pics of the watch on this site?
1. Got one of 4 sold at my AD this year and was able to get below MSRP
2. Beautiful weight and size for an average to smallish wrist
3. Wonderful lug shape
4. Quirky, weird, classy, traditional, sporty, dressy and retro all at the same time! Sort of what I thought a 40mm Air-King should have always been....
5. Can't stop looking at the crystal and second hand
6. Not overly impressed by it's lume...just ok . Dissapointed in the lume at 3/6/9 blue simply doesn't pop
7. The green crystal is not for everyone BUT to me it is simply an amazing way to give a new time piece an automatic retro feel
8. Again, the green crystal to me is worth the price of admission..like an old pair of green Ray Ban's. Why hasn't this been done before?
9. The supposed floppy locking clasp seems non existant
Overall a fantastic piece. If you like to dress retro or old school or appreciate Rolex but don't want to wear the usual suspects it is the ticket

Nico, You say 'For once Rolex did a funny watch’, I have to disagree: In my opinion 2 other Rolex watches fall in that category: Rolex 1655 Explorer 1 with Orange hand & Rolex 6541 with ZigZag hand, serious but funny too. As for this latest Milgauss, I ag...

I spoke about modern Rolexes. As for Vintage, you're absolutely correct. The funny thing with the Explo II so called Steve Mac Queen is that it was not a successful watch, at the beginning of this watch, but you know it better than me( as you're older.. )...

Thanks Marc...cool shot. I am really warming up to mine, initially I was concerned it was not "tooly" enough after having so many crono's etc... but it is a very cool combo of many of my faves...I don't think we made a mistake....this one should hold valu...
