Wow. The 6542 is among my favorite watches of all time. The Bakelite bezel in your example is nearly flawless.
The reason I love this reference is the practical story of ots inception. The materials are so fragile that good examples are difficult to find in good condition. Layer the fact that the radium from the bezel and dial caused a recall due to the radioactivity making an original package even more scarce!
This only scratches the surface of the devilish details for this reference!
Anyone know why a couple of recent auctions had such high results (>100-200k usd)?
