it's a problem of " consistance " .. when you find something " odd " or deeply different .... usually there are also other things non consistent : this doesn't mean by itself that the watch is not completely original .. but certainly that is not correct for his production time.
by the way a case in the 113.000-114.000 range has been produced around the middle of 1955 ( this according to internal Rolex tables and not following the " damned things " you see on the net ... LLOOLLL ).
by the way cases produced in 1956 begin roughly above 150.000.
for example all 6542 with one or two lines printed in red seen are all in that case range : the only one " out of range " is a watch
with a case from 1957 : but I perfectly know that the one owner changed the pristine case ( that was dead beaten ) with a better one but not correct for the dial ...
