A lot of people know my vices now and I know I do not have to try resisting, I am too weak. So to make a long story short, I paid a visit to my AD and after having a lot of black watches on the table he recorded that he had something else... Now I know th...
Especially in this color, with these wheels. As for the Daytona in black, I don't know... Honestly, I prefer it in its normal finish, but hey, the most important is that you're very happy with! Enjoy! Best, Nicolas
I had mixed feelings about a "pimped" Rolex ...almost like buying a contraband product but... I could not stop thinking about it. My math teacher said : " making mistakes is human... and there are individuals that are more human than others". cheers. Luc
Didn't want to offend you, my friend. Just to give a personal and subjective opinion on the Rolex. We don't always love the same tea, it is not a problem. Best, Nicolas
than you. Sorry if I did not manage to pass through my feelings. As a designer, I like authentic products and brands and I hate opportunists that make money while stealing other peoples work. I had a "cas de conscience" this week end, this is why I did no...
That Audi is AWESOME! Vrooooom! As much as I am not one to alter, in any way, any watch, with the possible exception of a different strap now and then, the pimped Rolly is HOT! My worthless prediction is that it will become a very collectible Rolex. Enjoy...
almost every top manager has a Daytona ... so I did not want to fall... entirely in the picture, just a little bit with a Daytona which is a bit more polarising. But it sounds as I premeditated this buy. It is not the case, I went curious to my AD, saw a ...
you know i am strangely drawn to your choice...and it is strange. However, you have an alternative on Daytonas...... 6239, 6241, 6263, 6265 I bet not many managers have one of them.
cash, you need to invest time and knowledge which a lot of people do not bother. I agree with you, there is a lot of superficial watch buyers. cheers. Luc
I agree. I guess i was inferring that for the price of a modified daytona, you are not a million miles away from a nice vintage piece... and if the purpose of a modification is to NOT have something that the average manager has, then a vintage piece would...
What I believe , Joe is that going for a vintage shows a certain personal development. It is like oldtimers, you have to love the smell of old leather, the smell of warm oil... Some people are born with that taste , some acquire it, some will never grow u...
... black is the new white !!! Great looking watch, to be seen in the flesh .... if you don't like it anymore i'll give you 50 quids for it ... or a bit more ... . Filip
I will try it first with my girlfriend who always asks me if there was no other colour then black with black and a touch of black available when I bring a new car home Do you mean that you give me 50 quids for the black skin if I manage to peel it off fro...
I thought white was the new black, but now you're telling me we've gone back to black?! You always were ahead of your time, Luc, and actually white never grabbed me, so I am happy if a missed the whole 'white phase' in design. LOL. Andrew
It takes time for them to accept the new moves we have to do... and as soon as you got them to feel comfortable, tell them the opposite! But that keeps them young! LOL until they fire me... not so many lots of laugh... LOL This message has been edited by ...
I had the chance to put a CVD coated Daytona on my wrist last year and I must say that I beleive that's the way Rolex should do the watch. Congrats, who dares wins ;-) Cheers Jeff
posts about it. You do not imagine how many times I did a forum search with the words black daytona, PVD, DLC, CVD...etc. I think that a lot of people that do not buy them because they do not want to loose the Rolex warranty would go for an official black...
Project X do this type of "modification". I tell you, when i was a kid of about 12, I used to go with my dad to work in one of his shops. It was in Berwick Street in London. There were quite a few sex shops around the area. I ALWAYS used to offer to fetch...
...onto a path that few seldom take...or at least admit to here!! I'm getting very tempted myself by the 'black selections' that Bamford, X, and PHunter, are offereing these days. Different takes on great watches! Good for you! Dave
and too often this creates a parallel offer. I love the icons from Rolex and wish mine would have been an authentic Rolex model and not a pimped one... Take care Dave and do not resist to the temptation... too much. Cheers. Luc
... or at least one side of it. I love vintage Daytona's, but the modern watches in silvery light colours never appealed to me. This stealthy grey/black version looks great to my eyes, Luc, and I love the dial as well. Legibility looks to be heightened to...
The legibility is good but I almost wish to have the instrument rings matt to even improve it but somewhere you have to stop... There are quite a few companies I know and certainly many more. I went for it when I was sure that the AD and the "pimper" woul...
I think it is a really beautiful Daytona...makes the watch a little bit understated...if that is ever possible with a Rolex! SJX's earlier post on Bamford and Sons as well as the upcoming opening of a store in Singapore made me quietly surfed the Bamford'...
Bamford, Projectxdesigns, Pro hunter, Blackoutconcept, Positive coating real busy.. I agree with you that the mass do not pay attention any more if your watch does not look like the Rolexes they are use to track... The other category: the connaisseurs do ...
Hi Luc Sorry I am a little late with my 5cent. but have been away I wouldnt have done it myself (as I can read a lot of others wouldnt wither). But on the other hand, why not. You are as I know you almost religious to the color black, and as Rolex isnt su...
Hi Luc, Caming back for a few days abroad, i've read this noon your thread. I always have said that I don't like "tuned" watches but I have to say that the choice you've done is terrific and I like very much this Dayto.... Having the terrible doubt for so...
to compare the finish. You are correct, if Rolex would have done it , I would have gone for the official one. You also pointed at the problem, I find myself really limited with the choice of variants while choosing a watch after being spoiled at the perso...
I read in silence and respectfully your Omega threads and admire your knowledge and passion and one day I will commit the right act on the right occasion and I will try to charge you with complicity ) But enough compliments, otherwise you are going to get...
i think i get the meaning behind it Luc :))) i think i'm already on the way to a 'big head' as we would say after Hans called me a genius who answered all his questions and solved his problems. what the heck, if you cant praise yourself no one else is goi...
than yourself ! I was wondering what L would stand for and the two first words that came to my mind were : ...Loco....and Lunatic. I suppose I hear them so much that my subconscious integrated them LOL Cheers Genius. Luc
Excellent stuff. Wouldn't mind one myself... after I could afford a black R8 spyder... but I mean I'd happily take your S5 off your hands Great pics Luc.
