I find it interesting indeed and understand that patina adds character. I know patina can be acelerated by continuous use specially if submerged in sea water.
Anyway when I mentioned winegard or lemon juice treatment I meant it to restore the original shine without polishing the case.
I know most owners of brass watches desire the patina but in my case I woud prefer the original shine and never the green oxidizing I have seen in some examples.
