Huge congrats, Luca!
For me the perfect Rolex allround tool watch for all circumstances.
It has a fantastic new movement (I own the new DD40 and therefore know what I'm talking about), an excellent WR, a perfectly sized bracelet and - due to the possibilities of modern technology - a cyclop.
Perhaps it breaks the history of the "original" SD, perhaps it has got the wrong name. I don't care and can't wait to try it on my wrist.

I am far from an authority on Rolex, but I think this watch looks much better in the smaller case.
Not a criticism - this still looks "nice" - but the larger size loses the charm of the 116600. I also don't care for the massive cyclops. The 116600 is "just right" proportion wise, this one is not for my tastes.

As mentioned, I am far from any sort of authority on Rolex. But I am fairly sure I would enjoy that watch on my wrist. Maybe the smaller one just a bit more. Happy for you Luca, you got a keeper, and that is very special.

First, I've always liked the cyclops. So, while I prefer no date at all, if there is one, it might as well be readable. Second, the red letters are eye-catching and add some pizzaz. Third, as you noted, the new Sea Dweller has Rolex's top-of-the-line move...

Collectors may consider the SD4000 to be the last of the "old" sea dweller, serving as the transitional model to the "new" model with the current. With the short duration of production, it may become the coveted one. Who knows how long Rolex will produce ...

It depends on your wrist size, as you may see by my pics, my wrist is not so big to handle the extension properly...
