My favorite Rolex watch period is the first half of the 1960'ies: gilt black lacquered dials and pointed crown guards are just fantastic! But which is your favorite watch: GMT or Sub? Nico has stated his preference already. What is yours? I tend to lean t...  

.....But I would always take a Submariner over a GMT! Its not to say that the GMTs in all their respective glory....from vintage through to modern, do not have considerable charm. Take my review from yesterday, if that is not a declaration of love!! BUT.....  

There is so much variety in the Sub/SD family! Lovely watches, by the way. Just in case nobody has told you, yet... ;-)

The gilt period is great era for Rolex both sub and GMT. I will go with both. Bill Rolex 1675 PCG Chapter Underline ...

you're at the top of vintage Rolex here!...as bill said, why choose one gilt over another!?...These 2 are superb examples. The Sub is somehow more "beefy" and cleaner at the same time some giving that kind of rough straight powerful look. the GMT is funki... 

Submariner or GMT is a fake question in my opinion, they are 2 different watches for 2 different tastes. If somebody like them both the best way is to get 2 clean examples of them.. In my case I've chosen long time ago. ...
