I think I have had two black dialled versions and one white dial version. I could not read either very easily and there was no date; hence moved on. Lovely watches though. I think the 37 mm versions are far more legible.
What time is it? Er, wait, let me see. One thing I like about a watch, maybe the main thing, is that I can see the time at a glance. And most Rolex excel at that. Well, except the Daytona.

the time doesn’t matter 😂. I’ve always said I like the black better than the white dial. Black dial = 51% White dial = 49% I’ve owned both for years ended up with both ceramic bezel versions since around 2016.
I completely agree with you and sold/traded my Daytona for that very reason

but I've never worn it. I have usually 3 watches which I wear in rotation.
For me when purchasing a watch...
The number one overriding factor has to be its legibility. Without that the watch is more or less useless, especially as you get older! And that is one reason, why I have never owned a Daytona.
